I don't think it's one-to-one by any means, and certainly there's a lot she has to say about the nature of travel, seeking kinship, a 'home', or the familiar in places unfamiliar...so maybe its more a metaphor of Hav for the universal traveler, who Morris just happens to represent because she's telling the story. Anyway, yeah, it is great. I would say wait til the end and see if you still disagree about the Hav-Morris metaphor. Though, I am uncertain what exactly the metaphor Morris is going after is. I'm not 100% certain Hav is herself, as instead it's a metaphor for travel and nostalgia. But the book is delicious. That's all I can say about it. I'm glad you convinced me to read a book I already owned. I am enjoying this book immensely (and just finished the chapter on the roof top race).
