The chapter headings are the heavenly spheres of the Ptolemaic cosmology–a map of the universe.
Ok, I do get that much–I was just wondering if there was a connection between them and the progression of John’s acceptance of his situation, his relationship with this part of the universe that his education has not accounted for. Actually, if there is, don’t tell me. I think I’d like to go read about the Ptolemaic cosmology and try to puzzle it out.
